 The 1997 Valley of the Sun Open features events for players in every skill level. Trophy World supplies trophy awards for first and second place finishers. Certificates awarded for Open Singles winners. Nittaku donates Three Star orange balls for play. The Phoenix Table Tennis Club and Mesa Parks and Rec. furnish Twelve Tournament Tables. All preliminary singles events are played in a round robin format. Entry deadline is midnight Thursday, 4 Dec. 

Eligibility: Tournament is open to USATT members, or those who join. Unrated players may enter any event (except rated doubles), but cannot advance from rated round robin groups. 

Fee Schedule: Event fee is $8 per event. Bonus: Junior players pay $4 per event. 

Rules: All USATT regulations apply. USATT dress code and equipment code (including red/black sides) will be enforced. Clothing must not be the same color as the ball.

 Location: The Broadway Recreation Center, 59 E. Broadway Rd, Mesa, AZ. Take US 60 east to Mesa Dr.. Head north for 2 miles on Mesa Dr. to Broadway Rd.. Head west ½ mile on Broadway Rd. to 59 E. Broadway Rd. The Broadway Recreation Center is located on the south side of the road. Park in rear.
