Vice president,
Sprinters engineering comebacks

Name: Chris Pore, Capore@aol.com

Born: May 31, 1954, in Mansfield, Ohio, USA

Occupation: Consulting engineer, H.A. Williams Associates

Home: Upper Arlington, Ohio, USA (suburb of Columbus)

All-time T&F bests: Chris writes: "Too long ago to remember. I ran track in both junior high and high school, competitively at the local level, but never at the state level. I ran sprints through the 440 yard run ... and hurdles."

Masters achievements: Chris writes: "I just completed my first season of Masters running. Wow, 27 years is a long time, but I made it. The season in Ohio is short with few competitions available. This season was cut even shorter by knee surgery on April 16, 1998. But I was determined and persevered. I was only able to compete in two meets this year due to recovery from the surgery. Season and obviously masters career best include 12.9 in the 100M, 27.84 in the 200M and 1:01.09 in the 400M. I'm anxiously awaiting 1999 to better those marks."

Trivia: "I have two claims to fame. 1) My brother still holds our high school record for the 220 yard dash at 22.0 set as a junior in 1968. 2) My daughter who really got me interested in competing again is in her second year of T&F competition. She is age 10 and competes in the bantam age group. She qualified for nationals in the high jump and the multi-event."

CEO's note: Our kids make us young again. Chris is proof of that -- again.
