Julie Morris

In loving Memory

Julie Ann Morris  5/13/1983 - 10/21/1997

Julie Ann Morris died October 21st, 1997, at the age of 14.  She was a freshman at Sahuaro High School in Tucson, Arizona.

Julie was a person that loved life and she was a joy to be around.  She had a wonderful sense of humor, a beautiful smile, and she could always laugh at herself.  She made friends easily and she cared about people and animals.

She loved music.  One of her goals in life was to be a country and western singer, and she would have made a good one because she had a beautiful voice.  Her favorite subject in school was drama.

She also had a wild, reckless side, but that was part of the beauty of her.  If there was a high cliff around with water below, Julie would be jumping off of it.  Once, when her mom's car spun out of control on an icy highway, Julie exclaimed "Do it again, mom!".

Steve Shaw, the Family Minister at Pantano Christian Church did the service for Julie's funeral.  It was a beautiful service that focused on celebrating Julie's life.  The service was held at Bring's Funeral Home in Tucson, and we were very happy with the way that they handled everything.  A very moving song that was played at her funeral was the hidden song on the "Taking the World by Donkey" CD by the Rug Burns.

Julie was cremated.  We have added her name to the memorial at the Childrens Memorial Park, located near River Road and Oracle here in Tucson.  You can see pictures of it on Julie's Picture Page (see the link below).  Julie's grandparents in Florida have graciously planted a Pamelo tree for her in Cape Coral.  We have a Jacaranda tree in our own backyard that we have spread some of her ashes on.

We would like to express our thanks to the family, friends, neighbors and even strangers that helped us through this difficult time.
