Librettos by Gene Tyburn

These are NEW operatic versions of Shakespeare's classics "Antony and Cleopatra" and "Othello". The score for "Antony and Cleopatra" has already been written, but I am in search of composers who are serious about scoring "Iago", the operatic adaptation of Shakespear's "Othello", and who have experience writing lyrical music. My librettos have been adapted from Shakespeare's plays and are now in rhyming couplets. The stories, as you know, are full of passion, deceit, betrayal, dishonor and love. They are a stories that have yet to be equaled in western literature.

Below are links to both operattas. In particular, there is a link to "Iago" which will let you read act one to see if it interests you. If you are seriously interested in a collaboration on this work, please contact me and we shall talk.
