P.C.U.U.S.A. is the largest Portuguese-American fraternal organization uniting the Portuguese-American communities in the Eastern United States and Canada.
It is recognized by federal, state and local government officials as representing the interests of the largest number of Portuguese-Americans and friends in most Portuguese Communities of New England and neighboring states.

Is
a tax exempt fraternal benefit society (IRS 501(c)(8), of persons of Portuguese Language,
Origins and friends of any other origin or nationality, founded in the United States in
1925, for promotion of mutual family protection (life insurance and annuities plans) and
social, civic, charitable, economic and educational programs, such as scholarship grants,
cultural congresses and awards, books, exemplary families, donations, excursions,
anniversaries, etc., for the benefit of its members and the prestige and development of
the members communities and roots, in cooperation and friendship with other groups and
organizations. PCUUSA belongs to its members and it has now more than seven thousand
members, spread through 73 local Lodges in Communities of Portuguese origins in
Massachusetts, Rhode Island, Connecticut, New York, New Jersey and Pennsylvania. Regional

uma sociedade fraternal beneficente, isenta de impostos IRS 501(c)(8)), de pessoas de Língua e Origens Portuguesas e doutras pessoas amigas que se
queiram associar, fundada nos Estados Unidos em 1925, para
realização de programas de protecção mútua da família (com seguros de vida e
investimentos em anuidades) e de actividades sociais, cívicas, beneficentes, económicas
e educativas, como bolsas de estudo, congressos culturais, prémios e livros, famílias
exemplares, excursões, aniversários, donativos, etc., para benefício dos seus
associados e desenvolvimento, poder e prestígio das suas comunidades e raízes, em
cooperação e amizade com outros grupos e organizações. A UPCEUA pertence aos seus
associados e tem hoje mais de sete mil associados em 73 Sucursais nas Comunidades de
Língua e Origens Portuguesas em Massachusetts, Rhode Island, Connecticut, New York, New
