Although there is no official size regulation for the POW/MIA flag, size must not exceed the dimensions of the American flag. The recommended POW/MIA flag should be three feet by five feet.
NEW PURPOSE FOR FLYING THE POW/MIA FLAG
The original purpose for flying the POW/MIA flag was to create public interest and support in compelling American lawmakers and diplomats to pressure foreign governments to increase and accelerate their efforts to release any still held POW/s, locate living MIA's and/or recover the remains of deceased MIA's. To date, every country were possible POW/MIAs are believed to have been held or fallen are being actively researched as expediently as is humanly possible. Recovery experts from the United States are currently at work in every country where a missing American is believed to have fallen. Today's purpose in flying the POW/MIA is largely symbolic, in respectful remembrance of those American's whose remains are yet to be recovered.
