Uschi Keszler is an elite choreographer who has contributed to the international success of world-class skaters like Brian Orser and Elvis Stojko. And at her rink in Aston, Pennsylvania, she continues to work with young children and beginners. This is because what motivates Uschi has always been a love of skating.

Uschi's style is unique. Her approach to skating is natural. She encourages her skaters to find their own voice on the ice, she brings out the best in them. She is known for her enthusiasm and energy. Skaters flourish under her exuberant guidance.

Uschi began as a skater. She was German national champion in the 1960's until illness brought her competitive career to a sudden stop. Perhaps fate had other plans for her -- because as a teacher she has contributed an incredible amount to figure skating. She has helped many skaters to express themselves and reach their potential. Uschi never got to reach her own potential as a competitive skater but she has reached her potential as a teacher and as one who gives back to the sport that she loves.

Today Uschi continues to choreograph, and is director of figure skating at her rink in Pennsylvania (Ice Works) where she devotes herself full time to her life's work.

Uschi is beautiful, cultured and successful, and still she is always a genuine person. She is motivated by passion and love for people and for skating, not by status or money. Her "realness" is obvious in all that she does. She works from the inside, from the center, from the truth of each skater. Uschi is a free spirit, and she allows others to be free spirits as well. We are honored to celebrate Uschi Keszler in the following pages.

"With me, the signature is not as obvious, because the way I work is to bring out a skater’s own personality, instead of imposing part of my own personality on them, so I feel that makes it more of a mystery who I am. Because my theory has always been to make them see how wonderful they are, not how wonderful I am."
