Comments on this site: The weather turned squirelly and it was cold and rainy the day I planned to fish. I arrived at about 10:00 in the morning and walked to the far downstream end of the property and fished "dry and dropper," using copper johns in various sizes and colors as the dropper. I had no strikes on the yellow humpy I had floating on top and switched to a green stonefly stimulator and a large (#12) prince nymph. Started taking fish on the dry and on the dropper one right after the other. Broke off a few flies and thereafter only took fish on larger prince nymphs. The dry action slowed but there were strikes and occasional fish on the dry all afternoon but the majority of the fish hit the prince. Small prince nymphs and other subsurface nymphs did nothing. Took only Browns ranging from 4" to 14" (many in the 10-14" range and saw only two Rainbows (the first, large but dead, under the water)and the second, very much alive, behind a rock. Got him to strike but no hookup. The property looks deserted. Gold Camp looks desolate but I had the river all to myself and loved it. It's quite beautiful once you get away from the structures (easy to do).

Comments on this site: First time to this property. Weather made things less than pleasant with strong winds and snow most of the day. We caught two 14" browns between 10AM and Noon on black conehead wolly bugger. No fish on nymphs, though one of us fished a variety of nymphs, with a variety of techniques, all morning. After lunch fishing picked-up and we caught about eight browns 14" to 18". Most fish caught above and below the railroad bridge. We had a BWO hatch around 3:15 in the midst of the heaviest snow of the day. We caught another 15 fish in the last 45 minutes of the day, with one fish pushing 18". Weather forced us to head home at 4PM.

Comments on this site: I arrived at the property late (noon) after delaying my departure from home for last minute, pressing emails. This was my first time back in a little over two years. Although it was late July, the river was at runoff levels due to recent rains. Few insect were showing so I decided it was time for searching patterns and spot probes. Wading on the upper half of the property was a bit treacherous, however, the pockets and flats turned out to be quite productive. The flats below the swing bridge were dead during the afternoon but really picked up around 6:00PM. For flies, stimulators brought rises, but few takes. I have a sense that they’ve seen a lot of them. Parachute Adams worked well as well as a tandem of wooly buggers. However, the fly of the day was a Craig Matthew’s Improved X-Caddis. I tied one on a 6:00PM and proceeded to pick up 6 fish in quick order with no refusals. The last two fish were 17 and 19 inches respectively, but both were a bit snaky. The tally for the day was 20 fish landed and another 12 to 15 nicked. I had an interesting incident while I was sitting on the tailgate of my Forrester having an orange around 5:30PM. Out of the corner of my eye, I saw something moving down the car track toward the car. When I turned, there was a pretty good sized badger. When our eyes met, the badger was only 20 feet away. We were both startled and the badger decided to reverse direction. I left with about a half hour of daylight remaining content that I had another really good day of fishing.

Comments on this site: It was my first time to this property. A very pretty place with a lot of different water. All the fish were browns between 8" and 15" and they all fell for a size 16 copper john dropped under a stimulator. The fish all seemed to be in the faster water. In 4 hours of fishing I caught about a dozen. Definitely a place to return to!

Comments on this site: Snow in the morning, brisk temperatures tosay the least. Fishing was a little slow on dry flies. Picked up later on green Copper Johns #18. Best strikes came at the end of the drift when you are picking up. Pause befor you pick up and maybe twitch it a little, try to have it hanging in the riffle or the riffle beside and in front of a good rock. Learn something new every day. Total fish 12 after the snow quit. Average length 12 to 16 inches. My wife almost the same.

Comments on this site: Front moved in so the entire day was cloudy with 2 rain showers. Water was clear and had scattered boaters and kayaks most of the day. No hatches. Hopper Dropper rig with beadhead prince and copper johns on the edges produced browns up to a 16 incher (hit the hopper). Beautiful place even though the fishing was tough.

Comments on this site: The water was high and somewhat colored from the previous night rain. Temps were mid 60s with cloudy skies and a occasional sprinkles all day. From previous report I stripped an olive wooley & had good luck in the AM. Switched to a nymph rig in the PM and the browns liked the s16 prince and anything colored brown s18. Nothing on top today only saw 2 risers all day. No hatches except rafts. Fished from 10.00am till 5.30pm. Good day fishing many 14-16" browns and 2 cuts.

Comments on this site: River was high and fast, still found good fishing on the edges. Landed 18 fish, rainbows and browns and a lone lake trout in the 13-16" range. Used a s10 golden stone nymph, s10 olive WB and a s16 caddis w/ a soft hackle PT dropper.
