Comments on this site: Nice property! fished the lake for a half hour to start and took some really nice 16-18 inch rainbows with one larger that broke me off. Then went over to the Creek and caught some Browns and rainbows from 6-14 inches for an hour or so. Water was a little high but is a really nice stretch. Saw some rainbows up to 18 inches but couldnt seal the deal on them. only got to fish for a short time but had a great day. Definitly recommend this property.

Comments on this site: Ditto Jason's report above. Caught several nice Browns and Rainbows on the stream. All Rainbows and Cutbows in the pond but a little larger fish. Early in the day was some good dry fly action on the lower stream with very small BWO, griffiths nats and elk hair caddis getting the most looks. One larger Rainbow took a Hopper(yea ha) and a few more took Copper John and BHPT droppers. Upper part of stream is completly different fishing, narrower, deeper, faster and more willows. Caught a couple of small brookies on the upper streach. Most of the fish on the pond 16 to 18 inch bows took brown or black woooly buggers. Kris kinda lost count of her tally but we must of caught 20+ fish and not necessarilly even counts per angler if you know what I mean. We've fish a lot of RMAC properties but this one is without question the most beautiful. At 3 hours from Lakewood its a tough day trip(we stayed in Walden) but well worth the trip.

Comments on this site: What a difference 10 days makes. The stream flow is down probably a foot. Some holes that produced large fish are no longer a hole or a riffle. We still caught a lot of nice fish but the count was about half as many as above and all fish were caught on droppers, only one fish caught on top. The lake fish smarted up in a real big hurry too. Last week brown and black buggers produced many fish today only one. Its still a great property and worth the trip, especially when irrigation is over.

Comments on this site: The pond is huge and the fishing was great. I fished at probably the worst time of day (9-3) and did well. Big agressive Donaldsons. They were feeding on some tiny insects but they'd chase and slam my black woolly bugger. The creek looked great with some really nice holding areas, but I sure didn't see or scare up any of the big fish only 8-12 inch browns.

Comments on this site: Fished one of the more beautiful RMAC properties we have available for the 3rd time(1st time this year). Well the creek was pretty much blown out with run off. That's actually good news,,,,right? So the resident monsters that are usually under the bridge couldn't be coaxed on to a fly of any kind. We finally moved to the lake about noon and caught a couple of dozen rainbows by 5:00. In the past wooly buggers in any color have worked well but only a few today took the many different streamers we threw. Most fish were taken on standard nymph patterns like Hares Ears, BHPT, Copper Johns, Prince etc. Kris did get one Rainbow on her Stimulator that we like to use as indicators just in case. Only a few of the fish looked like the ones we caught last year, large, slabby, bright red, Rainbows. The rest were nice 14" or so hard fighting, high flying Donaldson Rainbows. The look very suspisiously like other fish we have caught at several other properties.(Thanks Jimmy !} We're off to C52 (first time) tomorrow.

Comments on this site: Arrived at 8AM, watch out for the two HUGE red bulls east of the lake! Surface action started around 9:30 and a better fisherman than me would have caught lots of trout. Midges and two different types of caddis were hatching. Caught fish on black WB, FBPT and deer hair caddis. Most memorable on the lake was the retrieve of the caddis dancing it across the water when the breeze was up. Remember JAWS? This retrieve drew some monstrous pursuits and strikes from the larger fish. Moved to the stream for an hour and got one 18 inch rainbow on FBBHHE in about two feet of water. Caddis hatching on the creek which was about a foot high with runoff but clear

Comments on this site: This piece is an absolute gem-take good care of it. Had a wonderful day with some really nice fish. At least two over 20 inches and five or more over 18 inches. Caught fish all day and seemed to take anything we offered. Pond is beautiful. Just a really special place.

Comments on this site: The lake is in great shape and the river was out of its banks. That little creek is raging with run-off! At any rate, we fished the lake and we caught fish on dragonfly nymphs, calibaetis (sp?) nymphs, midge pupa nymphs, and a "smattering" of other flies. The fishing was steady from around 11:00 AM through 3:00 PM and then it got kind of slow. We used intermediate lines and this was the best way to go. We tried floating lines and sink tip lines as well. The fish that we caught were all in great shape and it is my understanding that fish were recently stocked there this year. We caught one monster holdover rainbow that was 22"+ and had a serious belly on it!! This is a peaceful and beautiful spot - well worth the drive! We went up Highway 125 and cut over to 14 on County Road 28. We saw moose on the way there, and on the way back. Sighting them is a real bonus!

Comments on this site: Went to North Park for some stillwater fishing. FINALLY caught the noon calibaetis hatch on Delaney North and caught three very large rainbows and one large brown. This was the 9th to warm up for Chedsey pond. Got there early, good thing, weather closed in about 11:00 AM, sleet, rain, wind, fish stopped feeding. another Colorado Spring day, Early, caught a good number of big fish, lots of runs and jumps, all on black streamers, no bugs coming off, no risers at all. Tried to fish the creek with streamers, mostly to high to wade, couldnt interest any fish, couldnt get upstream due to high water and the red bulls the size of minivans in the willows, didnt push my luck by getting to close. surprised a big fox in the brush with a rabbit in it's jaws. This is a great spot. Some road improvements done recently.

Comments on this site: Fished the lake....the river (creek) was raging . The lake was not, nor were the fish. We tried and did virtually everything that I know and caught three fish. Can you say slow? We had caddis, we had damsels, we had calibaetis, BUT, we had very few fish. We saw no fish eating the insect buffet that was being served. If you have fished this late in 2006 please call me. I would love to hear your comments. The THREE fish that we caught fought well. Incidentally we used intermediate and floating lines - the lake is too shallow for sink tips and full sinks.

Comments on this site: Way too much water in the creek at this date. The pond didn't produce too well today, it was pretty windy and we just didn't see any activity at all on top. We tried everything. Still a beautiful property, hopefully the creek will have a reasonable flow soon and before it gets too low.

Comments on this site: Intrigued by previous reports on Chedsey, I finally made it to the property. Unfortunately, I arrived two hours later than I wanted to after wrestling with browser and firewall problems and brain dead tech support. The stream was low and clear and the pool underneath the bridge was filled with fish. The buzzing of grass hoppers gave me a sense that the fish might be looking up so with a bit of bounce in my step I walked to the downstream boundary ready to fish the entire stream. Upon stepping into the water, I was greeted by flights of tricorythodes. There were some very subtle rises occurring but not enough to entice me to go down to 24s and 7x. So I went with what I heard while gearing up, grasshoppers. The first cast resulted in a 9 inch brookie from a fairly thin riffle, then some inspections and refusals. This pattern of one or two fish interspersed with a like amount of refusals continued for a few riffles until I came upon a nice run with some aggressive heads poking up. Most were focused on trics, but something told me that bigger fish could be dredge up. Thirty minutes later this sense was reality with 15 fish caught from the run with another 10 nicked using a sequence of grasshoppers, size 18 black copper johns, and one of my favorite searching patterns, a light gray, size 16 sparkle duns. The size of some of the rainbows took me by surprise with a couple of 16 inchers in the mix. The next pool looked intriguing so I continued with the sparkle dun. Casting to some lurking forms in the tail of the pool brought some aggressive inspections but no hookups. With high grass along the bank, I thought ants might be a decent alternative. Wow was it. Tying on a size 14 black McMurray ant, I embarked on one of the most productive runs of fishing I’ve had in a long time. Every ensuing riffle/glide produced at least three fish on the ant along with a bunch of inspections. I also saw some nice forms lying next to grass clumps on the edges. Two produced browns of 16 and 17 inches, one moving at least two feet to suck in the ant. Then I approached the down side of the bridge. With the first cast, a nice 15 inch rainbow came crashing down on the ant. The next cast produced his twin brother. Sticking with the McMurray, I caught another 12 rainbows in the bridge pool, all between 13 and 15 inches. I had one sequence of 4 fish on 4 consecutive casts. What made this so incredible was how aggressive these fish were. Each one breached to crash down on the ant. Wow. Action on the ant slowed somewhat as I fished up to the beaver ponds, but it was still incredible. When I wanted a change of pace, I went to the size 18 black CJ. In summary, for the day I landed over 40 fish including brookies, browns and rainbows. There were tiddlers in the mix, but the majority of the fish were between 12 and 15 inches. A couple of rainbows were pushing 18 inches. I probably moved or nicked another 30. I was thinking about making another traversal of the stream, but decided to check out the ponds and lake. I saw some decent fish move, but didn’t entice any. A perfect day: fantastic weather and fantastic fishing. Yes, good things do come in small packages.

Comments on this site: water is low, but still moving.started at the downstream boundary, and immediatly caught a nice brown about a foot long and well fed.every spot with more than a foot of water held fish.caught 6 NICE rainbows by standing below the bridge and making a water haul and side-arming it under the bridge to the run upstream. .Sometimes, it is good to be left-handed.caught 3 nice brookies 10-14 inches right below the first beaver pond.climbed above beaver dam and caught three browns and a very nice brookie in the pond.be careful, there are small pot holes where you can float your hat!there are very deep holes along the north bank that are deeply undercut, these beaver ponds deserve some serious attention.quit waving the graphite around when the big thunder boomer arrived about 3pm.
