Comments on this site: Not as good a property as C-64, but still plenty of good fishing. Rainbows in side pools loved a red San Juan worm. Whitefish loved any nymph. My rule of thumb for avoiding whitefish? Work the deeper pools with visible submerged rocks. That's where I found the trout. I worked mainly the downstream and middle sections of the property. Another member caught a huge cutthroat in an upstream hole, so I heard.

Comments on this site: Last stop for my "Fly Fishing Tour of Colorado 2005." Fished well but with a few more White fish. Caught a brilliant cutt and nice rainbows 16-20 inches. Copper John and Caddis Larvae worked the best. I first walked to the top of the property to fish downstream but found it nearly impossible to get to the river because it is so brushy. Finally made it to the river but flows were so high and banks so brushy that I could not get any access. Had to walk back out and head downstream until I could get to accessible area. Shouldn't be a problem when flows come down because you can walk the river. Not an option this day.

Comments on this site: spoke with Jason before I left, was a little discouraged about the high water.Checked in @ Cabins on the river, just upstream from the Seely ranches. The owner of the cabins(Earl) told me the river had been dropping and clearing every day.AM on the river, nymphed early, did well several 15-18 inch bows and the obligatory whitey's.Abig bow took a whack at my strike indicator,so I switched to a large stimulator and a stonefly nymph dropper,NO MORE WHITEY'S. Caught several nice fish, including a large brown from the choppy run mid property.after lunch, cut off dropper and fished dry rest of day.AWESOME!I had dinner with a guide from Elk Creek Lodge, and he told me the stonefly dry fishing would get better and better.Fished the river at the cabins the next day and it was very good, tougher wading, though.I highly recommend Earl and Vickie's cabins as a place to stay.

Comments on this site: Access a little difficult in some places for an old guy - high steep banks. Day started well, however, trout interested, largest netted about 17 inches. Always a bigger one that got away after a nice fight. Wind picked up in late morning and kept up rest of day requiring use of heavily weighted flies, mostly whitefish after that.

Comments on this site: The river was in great shape on a hot day, 92 degrees. Saw caddis at night, and hoppers, stoneflies and a small mayfly during the day. Used olive WB, BH nymphs, red SJW, and rs2's to land ten big fish from 16"-22"

Comments on this site: Fishing was very good. Many white fish and several nice trout, largest was 20 inches, a beautiful cutthroat. Fished bead head prince with a gold ice dropper with the catch about 50/50. Later in the day, fished an olive bugger which took the cutthroat. Nothing on top.
