We are the Schauer family! Mom, that's me, made this website to first help the homeschool group I ran. Now I just do it for the fun of it and to help other homeschoolers. We have
9 children aged 24 years to three! We have also been married for 26 years! We have
two dogs who just turned one. We have lived in many states due to my husband's work. We are originally from the Chicago suburbs but have lived
in Indiana for 10+ years! We really love Indiana and
semi-country living.

Our Homeschool Philosophy
We believe that our children are gifts from the Almighty God. They are precious to us and we have been given a gift and a
responsibility to raise them in the knowledge of the Lord! Our first concern is for their eternal relationship with the Lord Jesus Christ. God being the beginning of all knowledge and wisdom. "The fear of the LORD is the beginning of knowledge: but fools despise wisdom and instruction." (Prov 1:7 KJV) "Train up a child in the way he should go, and when he is old he shall not depart from it." (Prov 22:6 KJV)

  MOM
This year I will be homeschooling
4 of my children in 10th, 5th, 4th, 1st grade plus my Kindergartner. I have an engineering background in powertrain components. I have been homeschooling now for over
13 years. I was also a homeschool support group leader for
about 2 years. I
used to write a monthly
newsletter
for 5 years until I just couldn't manage the time anymore. I have been published, completed curriculum reviews for newspapers & magazines, and have also been on television.
My favorite hobby, (besides sleep) is quilting! I love fabric! The 'f'' word
in our house is FABRIC! Um...good sale at Jo Ann's Bye!
DAD
Dad is a simple guy who loves hockey! He is looking forward to
putting in our garden in the spring. He has been a mechanical engineer for 23 years. Right now he is training people on how to use solid modeling. (email us on this one)
He is a die hard CUBS fan but we won't talk about this year. He loves watching the Chicago Blackhawks
hockey, Redskins and the Colts football. He likes strategy board games and playing games with the kids. One more important item - we love to go camping!!!
KIDS
Ali is the oldest of the
nine children and is 24. She graduated from college and has been in Santa
Barbara, CA for two years now. Cassandra is 21 and loves little kids. She has
been in ballroom dancing for seven years and hopes to open a studio after she
graduates. Andrew,
who is 19, just loves math! He too is a hockey
fan like his dad! He likes to cook, play the piano and guitar, take care of his
dogs Rebecca is 17 and really likes
to draw and sketch. Katheryne is our 11 year old who is just so cute and knows it. She has been writing since she was 1 year old!
Hannah is the light of the world and our now 9 year old! If you want to see an angels eyes, look no further!
Then there is our little
Samuel who has no end to his energy. He loves to play video games like his older
brother and his incentive for doing all his schoolwork. Brianna is our smart 5
year old who has a wonderful smile. Our last little one was born one year to the
date after I lost my mother to cancer. She just turned three and is full of
spirit. We consider ourselves truly blessed with them all!
