GABRIELLA GOFFI
Was born in Gavardo (Brescia) in 1953. Her teaching centers on non-verbal communication. She is also involved in creativity in the plastic arts, conducting symposiums for children and adults as well as teaching courses. She designs and sketches theatrical costumes. She has been active in her field since 1985, concentrating her research on the expressive and evocative force of materials (fabrics, wood, metals) assembled into panels and sculptures. Has taken part in many collective and private exhibits.
Here art is still primary expressive capacity, productive manifestation of life, close to the creativity expressed by primitive cultures. An art of every day things for each day of life.

We are in no way dealing with an 'eccentric' reproposal of well-defined objects, but rather with highlighting the poetic nature of objects modified by the action of man and by wear. Wood and metal combine with rock, glass, rope transforming into a primary quality of either roughness, warmth, lightheartedness, depth, void or fulfillment. The poetry contained in Gabriella Goffi's figures does not need to be filtered into public view. It emanates from her characters, themselves, in the true story that unfolds form the way they are made.
