"As a former teacher and an author, my goal with this new series of books is to educate our students and to honor our World War II, Korean, Vietnam and Desert Storm veterans.

In each book, veterans from different branches of service and with varying ranks, military occupations, backgrounds and opinions answer questions about their experiences before, during and after the war. All of the questions come directly from students at Urbandale High School in Urbandale, Iowa."
