featuring works by
Croatian-American writer and journalist,
Vladimir P. Goss

Greetings:

Thank you for visiting my page. Some of my friends and readers have suggested that I provide quick access to my work. This page is meant to do so. It will bring you both my fiction and non-fiction output, both published and in print or, when appropriate, in pre-publication stage. You may choose from a menu of novels, short fiction, columns, features, reviews, news articles, scholarship -- in English or Croatian.

For those I have not had the pleasure of meeting, allow me to introduce myself. I was born in Zagreb, Republic of Croatia, where I completed my B.A. in English and B.A. and M.A. in Art History. I came to the U.S. in 1969, and completed my Ph.D. in Art History at Cornell in 1972. I have published about sixty books and articles on art, mostly medieval and mostly Mediterranean.

After teaching at a number of universities in the U.S. and abroad, I spent last decade or so writing for Croatian and Croatian-American media, as the U.S. correspondent of the largest Croatian daily, the Vecernji list of Zagreb, and contributor to a number of other Croatian papers and magazines. I have been writing regularly for the largest Croatian-American paper, the well-known "Z" -- the Zajednicar/Fraternalist of Pittsburgh.

My published literary output includes novels Antigone's Diary, The Washington Front, A Train to the West, and Nada (all in Croatian), and fifty some short stories both in English and Croatian.
