Many of these photos include artillery units
Another horse drawn unit
This one seems out of place with the rest?
Another drill? Dated 1940 on the back. In the background film crews are at work?
Putting on a show? Appears to a crowd in the background
The Hotel Sachsenhof
Another group shot dated 1941
Mother or sister?
More shots from the funeral mentioned on page 1. A reader writes" Greetings from Idaho, USA. Recently, I came across your "Unpublished images of Nazi Germany" webpage and saw a photo entitled: 'elaborate state funeral,' possibly that of Reynhard Heydrich. I am fairly certain that these photos are NOT of Heydrich's funeral for a number of reasons
1.) the honor guard at the funeral is not an SS honor guard, and since Heydrich was the quintessential SS man his funeral would have been resplendent with nazi regalia and most certainly an SS honor guard.
2.) the honor guard shown is an army (heer) honor guard and most of the helmets worn are those from the WWI/pre-WWII time period, helmets which included the tri-color emblem on the side (removed after, I believe, the initial stages of the invasion of the Soviet Union or closely thereabouts.) There are, however, a few soldiers sporting the newer style helmet adopted by the Wehrmact before the invasion of Poland in 1939 (but which still include the tri-color emblem.)
3.) as per the above observation, Heydrich was killed by partisans much later in the conflict, I believe in '42 or early '43, many months after the liquidation of many of the eastern European ghettos and well into the time period where all German forces wore the new style helmet.
