BANGKOK, March 5 (Kyodo) - Lao authorities announced Tuesday unofficial results of the Feb. 24 general election for the country's 109-seat National Assembly after the end of vote counting, the state-run Lao News Agency reported.
Four candidates including a deputy governor of Xieng Khuang Province who were members of the last assembly were not reelected, the report said.
Luang Prabang, Oudomsay and Luang Namtha were the last three constituencies to submit vote counts to the election committee Tuesday.
In the third general election since the Constitution was revised in August 1991, 166 candidates, including 34 women, vied for the 109 seats in the assembly.
