Common Questions:

Old Computers:

Household computers may be dropped off the second Saturday of each month throughout 2002 at the Rock Cut Road Transfer Station from 8:00 am to 12:00 pm. Drop off dates currently scheduled are June 8th, July 13th, August 10th, September 14th, October 12th, November 9th, December 14th.

Batteries:

May be put in orange battery bags during the month of July or dropped off at Wegman’s anytime.

Propane Tanks:

Check with Taylor Rental (315) 488-6143 to see if they will take them off your hands for a small fee.

Refrigerators/ Air Conditioners/ Dehumidifiers:

All items must be “Red Tagged” to show that the freon has been properly disposed of. Once that is done, the village will pick these items up for free.  Or call OCRRA, they will pick them up and dispose of the freon for a fee.

Furniture/Stoves/Washers/Dryers:

Place out at the curb on your normal trash day and the highway crew will pick it up if possible or come back later in the week to collect it.

Note to landlords: The Village is not responsible to pick up entire apartments content due to eviction. You will be responsible for renting and paying tipping fees for the one-ton and loading the items for disposal.

C&D (Construction and Debris): (Building scrap)

Twice a year for one week the village allows C&D to be put out to the road for free pickup. Not more than one-half a truckload per household for free may be placed to the curb. Call if you have any questions.

The village one-ton truck may be rented during the year for $30.00 a night plus tipping fee costs. A $100.00 cash deposit or a blank signed check made payable to “The Village of Camillus” must be left at the office before delivery of the truck.  The truck is left overnight and picked up the next business day, once the tipping fee slip is given to the office, you would be called and advised how much the total cost of renting the truck is. Call ahead for truck availability.

Brush and yard waste:

Once a week the village collects yard waste. Brush, branches, grass and tree trucks may be placed to the curb as long as they are manageable. You may request the village’s one-ton be dropped off at night if you wish to load it directly onto the truck. There is no charge for the use of the truck for brush and lawn waste. Call ahead for truck availability.
