ABOUT SIBIRSKIY
SIBIRSKIY is really just my home. I live in Louisiana on 15 acres near Baton Rouge. My kittens are raised underfoot with cats and dogs. They are members of my family and treated with love and respect. I feed Royal Canin kibbles and a raw meat diet. They receive wonderful vet care at a wonderful clinic as needed.

I have always been involved in rescue, cat, dog, horse and people since childhood but I bought my first pedigreed cat in 1997. It was a Snowshoe from Snoopy cattery. I got my first Siberian in 1998 from Bolshoi cattery.

I started showing cats through my friends at Xercats cattery. They started it all for me. I have been fortunate enough to have many mentors from the catteries of:  Snoopy, Cooncreole, Comrade, Bolshoi, Caravanserai, Kender and Starpoint Catteries. They shared their hopes, dreams and knowledge of Siberians and they continue to help me through friendship and educational support. However, the cats themselves are my real educators; they share their love and their wisdom so generously.

I am still very involved in rescue activities and I drive my Siberians, Dimitri and Nettie, to Pet Touch Therapy. They are is the therapists; I just drive them. Pet Touch Therapy is probably the most important part of my cat life. Nettie is a champion at Pet Touch and is enjoying his show retirement by visiting Care Facilities.

I breed Siberians but I am a lover of many breeds, Turkish Vans, Maine Coons, Norwegian Forest, Snowshoes and HHP's.
My cattery is my home. The kittens get the run of the house as soon as they are old enough.
CATS REALLY DO COME FIRST AT SIBIRSKIY.

I am a member of TICA, TISCA Siberian Breed Club. I am on the CFA Siberian Breed committeean and I am on  the TICA Siberian Breed Committee. My cattery is registered in TICA, CFA and ACFA.

I am a licensed Head Ring Clerk in TICA and have been involved in showing in TICA and CFA since 1999.

I am a member of two TICA Cat Clubs and one CFA Cat Club. I am active in Pet Touch Therapy through CAAWS here in Baton Rouge and help in a couple of Cat Rescue organizations.
It is with the deepest saddness that I annonuce the death of my dearest friend, Dimitri. He left this earth on Sept. 6, 2006 in my arms after a brief illness. He gave love to many residents of care facilities for a number of years and gave me love right down to the end.

The torch has been passed to Nehkov and Sibirskiy Dimitri. Dimitri taught him well, Nettie and Doodle are giving love to residents and continue to console me.

I down-play the "hypo-allergenic" qualities of Siberians. I have allergies and asthma myself and know the allergy response is a very individual response. I have placed and I have seen placed many Siberians in "allergy homes" with grest success but as a breeder and allergy suffer I worry about what might happen if a new owner has a reaction down the "road".

Many articles have been written about the hypo-allergenic qualities of Siberians and I suggest that a interested future`owner read some of these articles and test some Siberian fur. And visit a Siberian home if possible.
What sets a Sibirskiy Siberian Cat from others?
At Sibirskiy Cattery breeding is about quality, selection, knowledge and lots of luck. Quality is the beauty and balance of Siberian Cats set down in established breed standards in all cat registries. My goal in breeding cats is to reduce undesirable traits in my offspring. I do this through knowing the pedigree of my lines, knowing how my lines development and knowledge of Siberian Cat standards. This knowledge has been gained through careful study both in the show ring and through mentorships. Sibirskiy lines have proven themselves in the show ring and in the hearts of owners. The end result is a happy, healthy, strong, sound, and beautiful Siberian Cat that can adapt to any family situation.
