Dale Britt is a lifelong musician on the Delmarva peninsula. Originally from Crisfield, MD, Dale has played practically everywhere in the area. His perfect pitch ear assists in his side job of piano tuning. He has played at the piano bar at Phillips Beach Plaza Hotel for 25 years!
In June 1998 he teamed up with me, Rhonda Apple, to create the Apple & Britt duo. I hail from Indiana and have been singing professionally since the age of 19. I started as the "singing waitress" at Plaza Nine Restaurant in Dover, DE. (Thank you to Dennis & Carolyn for that!) I have performed with jazz, rock & soul and top 40 groups in clubs, resorts, cruise ships and Harrahs Casino in Atlantic City over the past twelve years. {I want to give a "Shout Out" to the BoogieMen and to Third Street Exit here! A very big THANK YOU to Nick Wayne, also.} Our style is classy, friendly, down to earth and versatile. In March 1999 Shirley Phillips gave me a try at the Phillips Beach Plaza Hotel. That resulted in hiring me to sing with Dale from then on! The reviews by regular guests and employees of Phillips Beach Plaza alike have been overwhelmingly positive. "Dale seems to have come alive--smiling more than ever!" many say. "It was just what this place needed," is often heard, as well.

****About our CD's:
We titled the first CD "SO MANY STARS." It became available May 2000 and is sold out. Our second CD, "RISING TIDE" became available April 17th, 2001. It has 4 original tunes on it.

Our list just keeps growing! Dale's forte is mainstream jazz in the style of his favorite jazz pianist, Bill Evans. I love jazz but enjoy singing a wide variety of styles. The bulk of our list is Old Standards. We also have lots of Oldies and Pop tunes from the 50's, 60's, 70's, 80's and 90's! We take requests, so on an average night we could do "I Got It Bad" from Duke Ellington, "They Can't Take That Away From Me" from Gershwin, "Does Anybody Know What Time It Is" by Chicago, "I Hope You Dance" by Lee Ann Womack and "Don't Know Why" from Norah Jones. Patsy Cline, Bette Midler, Barbra Streisand, Carole King and the Carpenters are popular suggestions. Recent additions to the list include Tony Bennett's "The Good Life" and "With a Song In My Heart." The list has plenty of variety. Phillips is the perfect setting for a romantic dinner and drinks around the piano bar. And if you want to hear a song that is NOT on the list Dale probably knows it!! There is also an invitation to those of you who can sing (Really, now,)to bring us a song. Dale has accompanied many a guest over the years. Sometimes you feel so inspired that you can't help but sing out loud!! We understand the feeling, believe me.

Playing Schedule

Dec. 4th and 18th we will play at the Colony South Hotel in the Decoy Lounge. It's in Clinton, MD, which is near Andrews Air Force Base on the Southeast side of D.C. Every Thursday night is their Supper Club Night with "lounge music" from 7 to 10pm. We will play there about twice a month. Please come out and support this! We play ALMOST exclusively at Phillips Beach Plaza Hotel. Our current schedule is Fri. and Sat., with Dale playing solo piano on Sundays. (On Friday Dec. 12th we will be playing for a private banquet at the Hyatt.) The piano bar is the perfect venue for what we do. We play 7-11pm. Come see us! Have a drink or have a delicious dinner at the Phillips By the Sea Restaurant in the hotel. They do get busy, so make a reservation for the "fireside section" so you can watch us play while you eat--Friday and Saturday nights especially. Their number is (410)289-9121. Seafood--especially crab--is their specialty and the chef is an award winner. And, need I mention the fabulous desserts made right there on the premises??? Most guests sit around the piano bar or in the lounge to listen to us in an intimate setting. One thing is for sure, there will be plenty of great music! Come see for yourself!!!
