A little about me and what is this all about.
About me,
I guess I like mechanical things, racing/cars, metal working, computers and building things. I sold high end home and car audio for 9 years before I went to college and received a degree in Plastic Engineering Technology. I now manage an advanced plastic fabrication plant. One of the reasons that I got this job was because of my home machining. I had included on my resume that I was a home machinist and that made my resume stand out from the rest!
I am in my mid 30s. I believe that Christ died for my sins and is my savior. I was saved when I was in high school and the Lord has looked after me for a lot of years. I can’t imagine taking on this world with out him!
I have always been in some contact with different people that was interested in or machined for a living. My father had always wanted a lathe and I heard him say this often. What he was wanting was a wood lathe, but I found out later in life he also had an interest in metal as well. When I was little my father had a good friend and at the time the only thing I knew was, this guy was very intelligent and built amazing things. When ever Charlie’s name came up my father commented about his talents. My father passed away when I was 15 and my interest in machining didn’t start until I was in my late 20s. After having a couple of friends that was machinist and a couple of other things working out, I started machining. What I found out after I started machining was that Charlie was a tool and die maker. My mother said my dad would go up to his shop and stay for hours. I now wonder what it would have been like to have been old enough to have gone to his shop and actually learned a few things.
