Dean’s Cycling Page
Well after 4400 miles on my Trek 1500, I am tickled to death with it! It has been a great bike. Several things have changed with it and I will do an update later about all of that. In January 07’ I am going to start training for the Assault on Mt. Mitchell! I already can’t wait, Dean
Welcome to my cycling page! The Doc told me about a year ago that I had to change my ways and I chose cycling to do that. I started riding in the spring of 2005 and here are some stats!
Total miles by fall:    1700 miles
Longest ride:        88.8 miles
Most in a month:    518 miles
Biggest Accomplishment on a bike: MS150
Goal for next year: 2-3 Centuries (100 miles in a day) and climb more hills!

My Bike is a Trek 1500 mostly with all the factory stuff except for,
Michelin Pro Race 2 700x23c tires
    Shimano Ultegra Pedals
    Ultegra Rear Derailleur
    Trek Incite 9 computer
    Wheels (soon)
My Trek 1500 has been a great bike. I really had no serious issues until the night before the MS 150. I found several cracks in my rear wheel around holes for the nipples. I called my LBS and had a Race x light wheel in just a few minuets. Because of my weight (245 down to 220) I was not surprised, the select wheels that come on the bike are not the stiffest. I will update my site when I decide on the new wheels. Dean
