First surfaced on the "Lonely At The Top" LP on Nondon Records. I received direct mail advertisement sent to my home, regarding the release of this record! I still have the flyer somewhere. Jagger calls out the chord changes. An unusual slow bluesy ballad. This sad, sad, song is loaded with soul.

"Emotional Rescue" sessions outtake from Compass Point Studios, Nassau, Bahamas January 18 - February 12, 1979 sessions. This title was incorrectly attributed to the song "Dancing Girls" on the classic LP source "Lonely At The Top" on Nondon Records. This mis-titling was "passed along" until the actual song was unearthed by the distinguished Stones specialty label "Outsider Bird Records" in January, 1993. This somewhat obscure song was performed and authored by an artist who had a string of songs chart in the late 50's (specifically 1958). He recorded for the old Dot record label.

"Paris Results" Outsider Bird Records (PR 1 A/PR-1 B) 200 numbered copies on pressed blue vinyl, with an insert cover and the backside rubber stamped.
Note that LP titles such as "From The Archives" and "Lonely At The Top" list Linda Lu but the recordings are actually "Dancing Girls".

String mutes, lotsa reverb, 50's swing and you got Rockabilly. This is the third specific reference in this series of unreleased transcriptions to a guy named "Ronnie" (the other two are heard within Figi Gin and Do You Think I Care). There is a version of Star Star (a Web Pick) from the 1997 tour where Jagger replaces Ali McGraw with none other than Pattie Boyd. The former wife of George Harrison and Eric Clapton. She was also the girl friend of one Ron Wood, and is said to be the inspiration of songs that include All You Need Is Love, Something, Layla, and Wonderful Tonight. Maybe Jagger finds humor in making these references?

Jagger rehearsing with Ian Stewart on Piano. We hear Jagger with the original Rolling Stone, who would have been a Stone had it not been for Andrew Loog Oldham. The track is rollicking boogie woogie piano as only "Stu" can play it. Recorded at Compass Point Studios, Nassau, Bahamas, January 18 - February 12, 1979.

Notice how the piano riff evolves into a rolling groove after Jagger's coaxing of Stewart at the half-way point in the song. There is also a light drum cymbal playing along and slight bass drum stomp.
We Had It All
"Emotional Rescue" outtake from Pathe Marconi, Paris, June 21 - August 25, 1979 sessions. This is not a Jagger/Richards composition.
There are three variations of the same take:
* Harmonica introduction and outro, piano - left channel, acoustic guitar - right, electric guitar - middle right. (2:47)
** No harmonica, replaced with slide guitar (maybe a Parsons/White G-bender) that plays through the entire track. (2:45)

This infamous Richards classic has been prolifically copied on recordings featuring the unreleased works of the " Human Riff", even when its inclusion is out of date content wise. Incredible country soul sung by the master in his prime. I have to remind myself that this can't be found on Emotional Rescue when I come across it. This track is finished, and it's a terrible loss for Richards that is has never been officially released. This one is buried treasure!
