Warley Woods has been a Landscaped park for nearly 200 years. Originally designed by Humphrey Repton, (successor to Capability Brown) in 1795.It was laid out in the early 1800's by the then owner of Warley Abbey: Samuel Galton.
Like the National Trust, our Trust is open to anyone wherever they may live, in the U.K. or abroad, whether they have a personal link with the area, an interest in Warley Woods, or the history of Smethwick, or anyone who subscribes to the objectives of the Trust, they will be welcomed as members. An interesting point for anyone living away from the area is that a newsletter will be published regularly. This will update members upon the progress of the trust with respect to the restoration of the park.
