Taliesin
Residence Tea Circle Tour. Spring Green, WI. The tour allows visitors
to participate in a tradition that Frank Lloyd Wright, renown American architect
and founder of the Prairie School, began at his home, Taliesin. Each day
at 4:30 p.m. work stopped and apprentices gathered with the Wrights in the
Tea Circle for discussions of all kinds over tea. Taking place at the same
time of day as Wright's tea time, the Tea Circle Tour includes a look at
the interior and exterior of the house and refreshments in the tea circle.
Spring Green, WI, is 45 minutes west of Madison.
Brown Palace
Hotel. Denver, CO. This is my neighborhood tearoom and despite all the
afternoon teas I have had, in all the wonderful places in this country, it
remains my favorite. The "feel" of the room is unbeatable; it is intimate
(maybe 20 tables), spacious (a twelve story stained glass domed atrium),
and the real "Western Victorian thang." Hotel was built in 1893 by one of
Denver's prominent architects and it has been faithfully preserved ever since.
This link provides a photo with menu, hours, pricing. And here's
what the
Denver
Post has to say about the Brown.
