RECENT:
- ON THE OTHER HAND, DEATH (writer): A Donald Strachey Mystery Movie, based on the books by Richard Stevenson, starring Chad Allen, directed by Ron Oliver. Limited theatrical release beging July 18, 2008, followed by airings on here! TV and DVD release.
- FLASH GORDON (Consulting Producer): Based on the Alex Raymond comic strips.
This show is going to be great! Writing staff run by Executive Producer Peter Hume, and also includes Executive Story Editor Melody Fox and dear friends and colleagues from "Highlander," Co-Executive Producer James Thorpe and Creative Consultant David Tynan.
- PAINKILLER JANE (Creative Consultant): Based on the comic book by Joe Quesada and Jimmy Palmiotti. Executive Produced by Gil Grant; Head Writer Lawrence Hertzog. Look for my three episodes, "Higher Court," "Friendly Fire," and "Ghost in the Machine."
- DANTE'S COVE (Supervising Producer, Season 2 and 3): Currently available on DVD.
- HIGHLANDER:THE SERIES (Associate Creative Consultant): The DVD's contain 'lost" footage from my extensive collection, along with audio commentary. Season 5 includes the rough-cuts of two episodes, with Donna Lettow and I providing running commentary with our pals Crow and Tom Servo. Just kidding. Sort of.

BIOGRAPHY

GILLIAN HORVATH was born and raised in New York City, the daughter of a "60 Minutes" producer, a social worker, and an HBO Executive. (What, everyone doesn't have three parents?) A graduate of the Film Studies Department at Yale University, Gillian nevertheless attributes her early education in Television writing to her summers spent interning in Drama Development at Universal Television (under the auspices of the Academy of Television Arts & Sciences Summer Internship Program) and in the Drama Programming Department at NBC Entertainment. In her first years in Hollywood she also worked as a script typist, freelance reader and researcher, and even as a tape screener for AMERICA'S FUNNIEST HOME VIDEOS, where her lasting contribution to the common culture was "the little redheaded girl who pretended to eat her vegetables."
Gillian's recent TV projects include Supervising Producer of the second and third seasons of DANTE'S COVE, airing on on here! TV, and Creative Consultant on PAINKILLER JANE for the Sci Fi Channel. She is currently Consulting Producer on the upcoming FLASH GORDON series.
Favorite past projects include the musketeer series YOUNG BLADES for PAX, and the PBS youth adventure series MYTHQUEST with David Braun and Lissa Sanders. As a Consultant on the writing staff of HIGHLANDER: THE SERIES, she joined Head Writer David Abramowitz and Executive Producer Bill Panzer in supervising the freelance writers and story arcs. She is also one of the writers of the Highlander feature film, HIGHLANDER: ENDGAME, and the editor of the prose anthology HIGHLANDER: AN EVENING ATJOE'S. Her "lost footage" and commentary appear on the series DVD's for seasons 3-5.
Gillian's other credits include BAYWATCH (where she sent Mitch Buchannon into life-and-death battle with a giant rubber eel), QUANTUM LEAP, BEVERLY HILLS 90210, DIAGNOSIS MURDER, QUEEN OF SWORDS, BEASTMASTER, XENA: WARRIOR PRINCESS, GENE RODDENBERRY'S ANDROMEDA, and six episodes of the Vampire Cop show, FOREVER KNIGHT, including viewer favorites "Fever" and "Queen of Harps."
