30 of our members attended the Pony Express Ride-In at BMW Headquarters in Woodcliff Lake, New Jersey on July 14, 1996. Our club raised over $10,300. for the Susan G. Komen Breast Cancer Foundation and we rode as a club in support of principal rider, Diane Sackett Nannary. Diane, a postal worker who is a breast cancer survivor, personally conducted a letter writing campaign that resulted in over 800,000 letters to the postmaster general requesting a postage stamp to promote breast cancer research for a cure. At BMW headquarters she showed the cancelled first issue of the stamp which will appear soon. The Spokes-Women rode with her to Monroe, New York. At Monroe, one of our members, Carol Pieretti, was the principal rider from there to Kingston, New York. She personally had raised over $5000. The club members also rode with her to Kingston.
