In the course of writing a family history, we developed a short history of the village of Sucany, a small town in central Slovakia along the Vah River. We wanted to put our ancestors into the historic background in which they lived, a desire that led us to collect as much information as possible on the daily events of life in Sucany. Because we found it quite difficult to locate almost any information at all, we decided to share our results in the hope of saving others considerable work.
