ROUTE OF CRAWL :

In order to complete the crawl in a single day the route has been slightly altered to what appears on the Monopoly Board, as the board route would take too much time complete because of the extra travelling around involved. However the route of the crawl is quite close to the board layout, starting on Old Kent Road and finishing at Mayfair.

POINTS : I have devised a points system so you can rate your attempts on the crawl as completion of the Monopoly Board Pub Crawl is a mean feat to complish.

WHY ? : The Monopoly Board Pub Crawl is the Holy Grail of Pub Crawls since it received notoriety from the Red Dwarf book, in which Dave Lister attempts the crawl on his birthday. I myself with some friend will attempt to complete the crawl on my 27th Birthday / Stag Night in January 1999.

WHAT YOU NEED TO ATTEMPT THE CRAWL :

1. You need to get into London nice and early as 12 hours (11am to 11pm) is not long time to travel and have a drink in 26 locations, realistic anything over 15 pubs is an achievement.

2. Loads of cash Primary for buying the beers, remember it costs more to buy drink in London than anywhere else in the country. You will also need cash for travelling on Busses and Taxis. Don't forget after a few beers you get the munchies and will need to buy plenty of junk food (food on the go) i.e. Hot Dogs, Big Macs, Kebabs etc.

3. A Zone 1 Underground day pass. Costing a couple quid to buy it will save time and money travelling around London.

4. If you are from out of town you will definitely need somewhere to stay at night, again London is very expensive when it comes to Hotels and B & Bs and rule is generally the further from center of London the cheaper the accommodation, ideally you want to stay somewhere near the centre of City so you don't have far to stagger home.

5. Sensible shoes/trainings, there is some walking/staggering involved. Nice clothes and shoes will get you into the respectable pubs, as some classy pubs don't allow jeans, T-shirts or trainers

6. A plan (copy of this guide) and a pocket A to Z of central could come in very handy
