RENEE MONTOYA (Bystander) (good)
Beat cop Renee Montoya first gained attention when she single-handedly apprehended serial killer Mr. Zsasz. Under the guidance of Commissioner Gordon, she became a detective, partnering with Harvey Bullock. During No Man's Land, she remained in the ravaged Gotham City where Two-Face developed an obsession with her. When Bullock and Gordon left the force, Montaya partnered with Crispus Allen. RA'S AL GHUL (Unique) (bad)
Ra's Al Ghul (Demon's Head in Arabic) headed a worldwide crime organization dedicated to purifying a world tainted by humanity. Seeking a suitable heir and mate for his daughter Talia and empire, he turned to Batman. The Dark Knight refused and the two have been bitter enemies since. Ra's claimed to be centuries old, his life sustained and renewed by the Lazarus Pit. The power of the Lazarus Pit comes with a price, causing madness and superhuman strength immediately after use. Ra's was a master swordsman and his encounters with "the detective," usually ended in a sword duel. But it was a brainwashed Talia who finally killed Ra's in at the end. RAVEN (good)
The daughter of the demon Trigon, Raven learned of her father's plans to invade Earth and recruited the new Teen Titans to stop him. As a member of the team, she learned to suppress her emotions, lest any strong feelings awaken the evil within her. Her raven-shaped "soul self" can be used to heal, teleport, protect her friends and attack her enemies. She had a relationship with Wally West (Flash) but she was became an amnesiac after becoming possessed by Trigon. She resufaced, cleansed of evil but under the thrall of Brother Blood. The Titans helped free her from his influence but just as she learned to experience emotions, she was killed by Wildebeest. ROBIN (Dick Grayson) (Starter) (good)
Orphaned by gangsters, young trapeze artist Dick Grayson was taken in by Batman and trained to become the first Robin. Together, they battled the bizarre criminals of Gotham City. In his spare time, Robin joined forces with other teen sidekicks to form the Teen Titans. As the "Boy Wonder" grew into the "Teen Wonder", Robin frequently teamed up with Batgirl Barbara Gordon. After a fallout with Batman, Robin led a new incarnation of the Teen Titans where he started a relationship with team mate Starfire. During the events of the "Judas Contract" Dick finally gave up his identity of Robin to become Nightwing. ROBIN (Tim Drake LE) (REV) (good)
The third of Batman's partners to bear the name Robin, Tim Drake has grown to become a skilled martial artist and expert detective. After Batman was temporarily disabled, Tim struck out on his own; first leading Young Justice and then as a member of latest incarnation of the Teen Titans. Any doubts that he had about his crimefighting career ended with the death of his father at the hands of Captain Boomerang. SCARECROW (Dr. Jonathan Crane LE) (bad)
An expert specializing in fear and the human mind, Dr. Jonathan Crane sought revenge against those who mocked him and called him a "Scarecrow." Dressing as a Scarecrow, Crane blackmailed and frightened his tormentors to death. Batman and Robin stopped his reign of terror and Crane was sent to Arkham Asylum. The Scarecrow returned again and again to fight the Dark Knight, forcing the hero to face and overcome many of his deepest fears. Despite his slight build, the Scarecrow is a skilled combatant, but his best weapon is the fear of others. The Scarecrow claims to have no fears himself, save one - The Batman. SNAPPER CARR (Bystander) (good)
When Simon Carr bankrolled the original Justice League, his nephew Lucas helped install equipment. Nicknamed "Snapper" due to his odd habit of snapping his fingers when excited, Snapper helped the JLA on several adventures eventually becoming an honorary member and keeper of their casebook. However, spending time in the company of superhumans made Snapper feel useless. He became easy prey for the Joker who tricked Snapper into helping him trap the JLA. Snapper left the team's company in disgrace. Several years later, Snapper was captured by an alien race who activated a latent ability to teleport. His hands were removed his hands by other hostile aliens but thanks to Vril Dox, he gained nanite hands and returned to Earth. He has since served as a mentor to novice heroes including Hourman (III) and Young Justice. Allies: Atom, Flash, Black Canary, Green Lantern (Hal Jordan), JLA Enemies: Joker
SPEED SAUNDERS (Bystander) (good)
One of the original detective adventurers, Cyril "Speed" Saunders travelled Europe working with the O.S.S. during World War II. There he met Wesley Dodds, the original Sandman and the two remained friends. Speed became the guardian of Kendra Saunders also known as Hawkgirl. STARFIRE (Princess Koriand'r LE) (good)
A Tamaran warrior princess who escaped slavery and fled to Earth, Koriand'r found a new life as member of the Teen Titans and a romantic relationship with Robin. After being possessed by Raven, she left the team and returned to space. After her home planet was destroyed, she rejoined the Teen Titans where she now mentors the younger team members. Beautiful and deadly, Starfire can harness the power of the sun to fire devastating starbolts and fly. SUPERMAN (good)
Rocketed to Earth by his scientist parents, baby Kal-El was found by Jonathan and Martha Kent. Named Clark Kent, he was raised to use his special powers for truth, justice and the American way. The most powerful of heroes, Superman can fly, has super-strength, heat vision and is invulnerable to almost everything except for magic and Kryptonite; a radioactive fragment of his home planet of Krypton. Superman lives in Metropolis where he works as a mild-mannered reporter with his wife Lois Lane. Along with his allies Batman and the Justice League, he fights a never-ending battle against villains Lex Luthor, Brainiac, Bizarro. THE NEW TEEN TITANS (Group)
Called together to battle the forces of the demon, Trigon; the New Teen Titans were Changeling, Cyborg, Kid Flash, Robin, Starfire, Raven and Wonder Girl. Living in their "T" shaped tower in New York harbor, the young team became like family as they battled against Brother Blood, Fearsome Five, HIVE and the Brotherhood of Evil.
TERRA (II) (Unique) (good)
The first Tara Markov was a troubled girl who joined and betrayed the Teen Titans before killing herself with her earth controlling powers. (See "Judas Contract") Years later, another Terra appeared, claiming to be an adventurer from the future who had surgery to resemble the original Terra. However, she is indeed the original, somehow rescued from death by the villainous Time Trapper. Only her brother, the Outsider Geo-Force, knows this. Terra has control over the earth and can levitate stones for flight. She can cause earthquakes, create lava bursts, and create shapes out of solid rock. WONDER WOMAN (good)
Princess Diana was raised as an Amazon warrior on the paradise island of Themyscira. She travelled to the "man's world" as an ambassador of peace and justice. Gifted by the Greek Gods, Wonder Woman has super-strength, flight, and speed fast enough to deflect bullets with her bracelets. Her magic lasso compels those bound in its coils to tell the truth. She joined the JLA and continued her fight against the evils of the world. In battle with the demon Neron, Diana died and was reborn as the goddess of truth. However, she soon regained her mortality to continue her fight for peace. Allies: Troia, Wonder Woman (unique), JLA Enemies: Cheetah, Cheetah, Ares, Silver Swan
ZERO HOUR (Event)
Years after the events of "Crisis on Infinite Earths" three villains, Extant, Monarch and the former Green Lantern Parallax, conspire to break down time in order to recreate reality. Heroes from all eras gather at "Ground Zero" to battle for the fate of time itself. Just as the heroes are winning, the hero Damage accidentally initiates a new "Big Bang" which restarts time. Reality and the timestream are rebuilt. Many heroes such as Hawkman and Hawkgirl are lost in the "reboot" while several new heroes emerge including Starman and Impulse.
