PASTE-POT PETE/TRAPSTER
(bad) Scientist Peter Petruski created a super-strong adhesive and embarked on a life of crime. Calling himself Paste Pot Pete, Petruski's plans were cut short by the Human Torch. Seeking revenge, Pete joined forces with the Wizard, Medusa and Sandman as the Frightful Four to battle the Fantastic Four on several occasions. Renaming himself the Trapster, Pete battled other heroes like Captain America, Daredevil and Spider-Man. Despite his many battles, the Trapster became a joke and tired of this, he attempted to reform. His reform was short lived and was hired by Norman Osborn to frame Spider-Man by replicating his webbing. After an adventure in the Negative Zone, Trapster rejoined the Frightful Four but after trying to kill the Wizard's daughter, he was placed in the ultimate trap - a time loop where he is destroyed over and over again. PURPLE MAN (Unique)
(bad) Yugoslavian spy Zebediah Kilgrave was accidentally doused with a chemical that dyed his skin purple and gave him the ability to control minds. As the Purple Man, Kilgrave used his powers to battle Daredevil and Namor, but his greatest triumph was when he enslaves the heroine Jewel for eight months. The tables were turned when the Kilgrave learned that he was recently being manipulated by Baron Zemo. Kilgrave was imprisoned on the Raft where he remains, now suffering under the delusion that he lives within a comic book world. RADIOACTIVE MAN (Dr. Chen Lu LE)
(bad/good) Dr Chen Lu was a nuclear physicist in the People's Republic of China. In an attempt to create a weapon to use against Thor, Lu bombarded his body with massive doses of radiation. He mutates into a large green being with the ability to absorb and manipulate radiation, form force-fields and fire radioactive energy blasts. He joined the original Masters of Evil and even formed his own team, Titanic Three. After many years of defeat, Radioactive Man reformed and joined the "New" Thunderbolts. THE SIN-EATER SAGA (Event) From Spectacular Spider-Man #107 - 110. Spider-Man learns his friend police captain Jean DeWolff has been killed by the "Sin-Eater." As the Sin-Eater's killing spree continues, Spider-Man crosses paths with Daredevil and must make some hard decisions about his own interpretation of justice. As they track down the Sin-Eater, the heroes learn each others secret identities. After the Sin-Eater is captured and unmasked as police officer Stan Carter, an angry mob breaks into jail to lynch the Sin-Eater Spider-Man must make a hard decision whether to save a murderer's life. |

RHINO (Aleksei Sytsevich LE)
(bad) Originally hired muscle, Aleksei Sytsevich was the subject of an experiment to develop a superhuman assassin. Though not very smart, the chemical and radiation treatment gave Sytsevich superhuman strength. Bonded into a tough suit of armor which resembles a rhinoceros's hide, his first mission was to abduct the son of J. Jonah Jameson. Spider-Man foiled the attempt. Foreign spies augmented his power further via gamma ray treatments. After battling the Hulk, the Rhino was freed by the Leader who further increased the his strength and mind-controlled his body. The Rhino currently works as a player in the "Great Game." SCARLET SPIDER (Unique)
(good) Ben Reilly was "born" when Professor Miles Warren created a clone of his student Peter Parker. Possessing all of Spider-Man's strength and agility, the clone was manipulated into battling the real Spider-Man to the death. The clone survived and naming himself "Ben Reilly" (After Parker's Uncle Ben and his Aunt May Reilly) he hit the road in self-imposed exile. Five years later, when Ben discovered that Aunt May was dying, he returned to New York and confronted "himself." Parker thought he was the clone and Reilly was the original, so he retired from crime-fighting. Creating a makeshift costume and dubbed the "Scarlet Spider" by the press, Ben became a replacement for Spider-Man. Ben was ultimately revealed as the clone when he died saving Spider-Man from the Green Goblin. SECRET WARS (Event) Transported to the Beyonder's Battleworld, armies of heroes and villians are forced to battle each other for the ultimate prize. After meeting the new black-suited Spider-Woman, Spidey's own costume gets shredded by the Absorbing Man's attack. Spider-Man uses a machine that creates costumes to replace it. Instead, a mysterious black ball come out which transforms into a new costume that resembles Spider-Woman's. To Spidey's surprise, this new black costume not only creates its own webs but it obeys his mental commands! |

SGT. TORK (Bystander)
(good) Police detective Sgt. Tork was a friend to several of New York's heroes helping them fight villains such as Electro, the Sin-Eater and Legion. He was an especially close friend to fellow Harlem hero; the Falcon. Tork was usually always seen carrying his trademark sawed-off shotgun. He was thought to have been killed when mistaken by assassins for the new Black Panther, but he has since returned alive and well. SHADOWCAT/SPRITE
(good) Kitty Pryde's mutant ability allows her to "phase" through any solid object. When she first joined the X-Men, she took the codename Sprite. She soon changed it to Ariel, but after being possessed by the ronin Ogun, she called herself Shadowcat. After learning the X-Men had been "killed," Kitty and her pet dragon Lockheed moved to England to join Excalibur. She has since moved back to rejoin the X-Men. SHIELD Agent/Sniper/Trooper
(good) The highly trained agents of S.H.I.E.L.D. are America's greatest espionage and anti-global terrorism organization. They utilize a wide-variety of high-tech equipment from personal jet-packs to battleship-sized Helicarriers. Under new executive Maria Hill, S.H.I.E.L.D. has modernized, rechristening itself the Strategic Hazard Intervention, Espionage and Logicistics Directorate. S.H.I.E.L.D. no longer supports superheroes and attempt to curtail superhero activity to maximum extent possible. This policy has already led to confrontations with the "New" Avengers. What other conflicts arise between S.H.I.E.L.D. and the superhuman community are yet to be seen. SIN-EATER (Bystander)
(bad) Carter retained permanent physical damage due to Spidey's attack. He appeared cured of the Sin-Eater mental state and bore Spider-Man no ill will, though privately he was haunted by the image of the Sin-Eater. Peter's conscience was so tortured that he did not dare to fight anymore after this. Carter seemingly succumbed to the Sin-Eater personality once more and was confronted by armed police who shot him. As he died, Carter realized he was at last free of the Sin-Eater. It was then revealed that Carter had truly beaten the Sin-Eater even before as his gun was not loaded. Falcon gets down and dirty as he battles his way to freedom. As the two heroes are pursued by the military through the offices of the Daily Bugle, Falcon leaps out of a window to reveal his secret weapon: hardlight wings created for him by the Black Panther. SOULSWORD WIELDER (LE)
(good) When the Beyonder reverted Illyana Rasputin (Magik) back to her chronological age, she was freed of the influence of the darksoul. Her Soul Sword manifested itself in a new master - Kitty Pryde. While the Soul Sword cannot injure non-supernatural beings, it can kill demonic ones. Ironically, for some reason, Kitty is the only non-demonic being it can injure. It can also summon creatures and sever the influence of magical spells. SPIDER-MAN (good) After freeing himself from thrall of the living symbiote costume he brought back from the Beyonder's Secret Wars, Spider-Man wears his black costume again - sewn for him by his girlfriend, the Black Cat. The web-slinger alternated between "new look" and his tradition red n' blue costume for years. It wasn't until Mary Jane was kidnapped and traumatized by Venom that Spidey hung up the black costume for good. (bad/good) Pharmacist James Sanders was granted super-speed in return for joining the Grandmaster's Squadron Sinister. Originally known as the Whizzer, Sanders changed his name to Speed Demon when he joined the Sinister Syndicate to assassinate Spider-Man. Speed Demon's hyper-sonic speed allows to him to create tornadoes, move at high speeds and repeatedly attack opponents. Despite his amazing powers, Speed Demon has been constantly defeated and has reformed to join the Thunderbolts. (bad) Disgruntled with his job as a scientist, Wilbur Day stole a hydraulic ramming device and fashioned it into a suit of armor. Armed with telescoping legs that can raise to great heights, hydraulic rams that can smash through walls and a blaster that can stun opponents, Stilt Man embarked on his criminal career! Despite early bouts with Daredevil, Captain America and Thor, the Stilt Man became a joke among the villain community and finally gave up his Stilt-Man identity. (bad/good) Jacques DuQuesne helped trained Hawkeye while both men worked in the circus. The Swordsman turned to crime, but attempted to reform when he joined the Avengers. He ultimately betrayed the team and left their ranks. Swordsman rejoined the Avengers during their quest for the "Celestial Madonna." Swordsman fell in love with the Avengers' ally Mantis and died saving her life. His spirit inhabited an alien shape-shifting Cotati and married Mantis and had a son. TECHNO (good) Recruited by Baron Zemo to become a member of the Thunderbolts, criminal Norbert Ebersol took the guise of Techno. Techno has adapted his Fixer battle vest with a variety of devices that allow him to fly, augment strength and fire a variety of weapons. In addition to being a master inventor, Techno has made great strides in robotics and cloning - having made temporary replacement bodies for himself as well as other teammates. After a fallout with Zemo, Techno became a member of the government-sponsored Redeemers but rejoined the Thunderbolts just as they were exiled to Counter-Earth. After their return, he spent some time freelancing for Deadpool and Cable but has recently returned back to the Thunderbolts. He once wore Stilt-Man's armor in an attempt to gain some "street cred" but like everything else, failed miserably at being a super-villain. VALKYRIE (Brunhilde LE)
(good) The Asgardian Brunhilde served as the leader of the Valkyrior, a group of warrior goddesses who choose dead to be honored in Valhalla, for centuries. Her soul became a play-thing of the Enchantress who used it to grant Valkyrie's powers to socialite Samantha Parrington and later, Barbara Norriss. When possessed by Valkyrie's power the wielder gained superior strength, resistance to injury and prowess in combat. She also flew on Aragon, the winged steed she got from the Black Knight. Not long after Valkyrie joined the Defenders, Norriss's body was murdered and Valkyrie's spirit was freed. With the help of Dr. Strange, she regained her true body and defeated the Enchantress. She remained with the Defenders for years. Valkyrie mentored Moondragon and it was during the attempt to defeat the Dragon of the Moon that Brunhilde was transformed to a statue of ash. Brunhilde was later seen by Dr. Strange ushering the dead back to Valhalla, though it was unclear whether Brunhilde herself was dead. (bad) Originally Spider-Man's black symbiote costume, the alien found a new host in Eddie Brock, Peter Parker's rival newspaper reporter. Their hate merged to become the most dangerous foe Spidey has ever faced: Venom! The symbiote grants the monstrous Venom all of Spider-Man's abilities: web-spinning, spider-like agility, super-strength and it even allows him to avoid detection by Spidey's spider sense. Wildly unpredictable, Venom has fluxuated between being a villain and "lethal protector." After the dying Eddie Brock committed suicide, the symbiote bonded with a new host who hated Spider-Man as much as the symbiote did - Mac Gargan aka Scorpion. WEST COAST AVENGERS (Group)
(good) In order to strengthen the Avengers' efforts against alien and superhuman threats, Hawkeye and his wife Mockingbird founded the West Coast Avengers. Fellow founding members were Tigra, Wonder Man and Iron Man. From their Avengers Compound the "wackos" took on the threats of the Grim Reaper, Zodiac, Ultron-11 and Dr. Doom. The team soon gained new members in Hank Pym (Yellowjacket), the Vision and Scarlet Witch and later Moon Knight, USAgent, Wasp, Spider-Woman (II) and the Living Lightning. |

WINGLESS WIZARD/WIZARD
(bad) Bentley Whitman was a celebrity inventor and magician who created became jealous of the Fantastic Four's fame. Creating technology to fly and mimic the Torch's powers, he battled the team. Upon his defeat, he assembled his own "Frightful Four" to attack the heroes. Over the years, he led the villainous team with an ever-shifting roster including his wife Salamandra the Fire Maiden and his daughter Cole.
