Not much is known about John Wiles.  He is listed in "The Thomas Amyi Wiles Family Bible".   He was born on 28 Dec 1805,   no place listed.  On 27 Oct 1825 he took Louisa Park as his wife in Maury County, TN.  They are listed in " The Park Family Bible " with their oldest son William A.  He has also showed up on 1830 United States Census for Maury County, Tennessee. On the 1830 Census he was under Wiles with 1 female in Louisa age range and their 2 children in the correct age range. Louisa (1809), William A. (1827), and Nancy J (1828). On 18 Feb 1833,  John purchased 50 acres for $150,  in the Silver River section of Maury County.  In 1836 Tennessee created the County of Marshall and transferred the Silver River section from Maury County. 

    John was also found on the 1840 United States Census for Marshall County, Tennessee; under the surname Wyles,   John was listed with 1 female in Louisa's age range and 6 children in the correct age range. William A. (1827), Nancy J. (1828), Samuel J. (1831), Mary Manerva (1833), Elizabeth Fidelle (1836), and America M. (1838). On 5 Jan 1850,  John sold all his property; 65 acres.  The 50 original acres plus an additional 15 acres purchased sometime later. 

    There is a listing of John Wiles marriage to Martha Jane Richie on 30 Oct 1851 in Marshall County, TN.   The next listing of John is a will in Oct 1856 in Lawrence County, Arkansas.   It states "He has giving everything that he was going to give to his first wife and children" and "that he died in Tennessee". After that a William Wiles was made guardian of John's minor daughter by the Lawrence County Court.  Her name was Martha A.A. Wiles.  I believe the William is John's brother,  the William born in 1807, and not his son William born in 1827.

    Louisa and the children were not listed on the 1860 Census anywhere. Sometime after this they also moved to Navorro County, Texas. This is determined by the births of her grandchildren. Her two sons William A and John Franklin were in Company I, 19th Texas Calvary, CSA.  After the war they moved back to the Sidney area of Sharp County.

    Louisa lived a long live in Izard and Sharp Counties.  She died on 11 Dec 1882,  and is buried in Mt. Carmel Cemetery,  Sidney,  Sharp County, Arkansas.  She has three sons, and three daughters buried in the same cemetery near her.  Many descendents of  John and Louisa's still live in Izard,  Jackson,  and  Sharp Counties today.  The **  indicates my direct line.

   New information has recently surfaced on this family.  There is a journal or outline of the life of William A. Wiles.  It starts in 1848 and ends about 1866.  It tells of the year by year life of William.  There is also a picture Sarah Louisa Park Wiles,  and her daughter,  Mary Manerva and family.  Mary Manerva married William McGee.
