Hillside Wine provides broad access to the best wine for avid wine consumers, via retail placement of wine for artisinal wineries, in Northern California's premium wine retailers and most wine-friendly restaurants. 

Whether you're a winemaker, vineyard manager, or grower establishing your own brand and looking for the best way to get your wine to a broad audience, or a retailer or sommelier looking for compelling new wines to please your customers with and bring them back for more, you've come to the right place.  We want to work with you.

Our Value

For retailers and restauranteurs, Hillside Wine provides access to limited production wines produced from superior vineyards. Having sampled thousands of the best U.S. wines from recent vintages, when we offer you a wine you can be confident that it's among the best available. 

For wineries, Hillside Wine offers artisinal producers placement in a compatible portfolio of limited production wines, and product placement in retail locations that maximize your exposure by featuring your wines in email or hardcopy newsletters, themed tastings or by the glass programs.  In addition, we can provide additional coverage of your wines and/or winery on the Internet, publicity for events featuring your wines, provide a Web site if you don't already have one, and register your site for best possible placement in Internet search engines!  We'd also be happy to help you identify and submit wines to appropriate reviewers in the territories we cover.

For consumers, a wine broker works on a commission-only basis, which costs much less to wineries than the added markup a full-fledged distributor would charge.  Not only can we help you discover the hottest new wines and refer you to where to buy them, the minimal impact on the cost will ensure that you get maximum value.  Last but not least, we have no need to "push" any particular wines... we don't have any pre-purchased wines in stock, sitting in a warehouse.  If your favorite restaurants or wine shops carry any of our wines, it's because they liked the wine and expect you to enjoy it as well.

To sum it all up, service means a heck of a lot more than simply "selling" wines... we're very enthusiastic about the exceptional wines we choose to feature and the wineries we represent, and with the lengths we'll go to in order to make our wines available to everyone, surely our enthusiasm will prove to be contagious!

Having actively participated in the major online wine discussion forums since 1995, Jeff Sullivan can provide an additional level of support for demand creation efforts by posting tasting notes, publicising tastings and other events that feature your wines, including your wines in his own frequent blind tastings, and inserting your wines at "offlines" frequented by other forum participants.  

By actively searching out the best new wineries and "exposing" them to the broader wine-drinking community, we're not just ahead of the buzz, we're part of it! 

The "No Bad Wine" Rule

There's one small caveat for producers regarding our service policy... our position and credibility in the wine industry is contingent upon our palate, and our integrity.  We won't promote or represent second quality wines masquerading as top rate product under premium labels.   Wine is a natural product and both vintage variation and accidents will happen, but send your mistakes through normal distribution channels (they'll probably be happy to get any of your wine, even the leftovers).  In the long run, protecting the quality and integrity of the Hillside Wines brand will ensure that we can give your better wines the respect, attention and prestige that they deserve.
