M81 is a spiral galaxy seen face-on which lies at an estimated distance of about 7 million light-years.

Photographed at Mt. Pinos in Frazier Park, California with a Takahashi 4-inch refractor at f/8 (800mm focal length) using hypersensitized Fuji 400 film and a 60 minute exposure.
