Or download the two class files separately:
Version 2.0 adds an internal frame rate control, so the applet will run at
approximately the same speed on all processors. In addition, the frame rate
setting can be changed in the applet tag via the FrameRate parameter. Valid
values are integers or decimal numbers to tenths precision.
The default frame rate setting is 200.0. My Pentium120 can just about
get to a frame rate of 190 with this applet, so the majority of your visitors
will see it run at the 200 frame rate, and yet it will still run adequately
fast for those of us with antique machines.
If you'd like a button to use on your site, perhaps to link from your main page to a
separate page containing the applet (suggested setup), here's one you can use:
Use your browser's "Save picture as..." utility to download the button. Because java applets require the "Java Virtual Machine" software embedded
in a browser to run, the applet can't run in a regular Windows window... but
your web browser will run just fine even when you're not connected online.
In Win95, the easiest way to do this is to put the 3 files contained in the
attached zip file into one folder, open that folder with the Explorer file browser,
and double-click on the file name "psych.html". This *should* automatically
start your default web browser, and open to the psych.html page, and start
the psych applet.
If nothing happens when you double-click on the psych.html file name, then
the file association settings are probably not set correctly. This is easy to fix.
In the Win95 HELP utility, look in the index for the phrase "associating file
types with programs", which will guide you to the window where you can
associate htm and/or html files with your default browser program.
