A Way To Another Side Of The Universe
Girls in Satin dresses,
Men in chains
A dance no one was invited to,
A party that one boy was left out of
The chocolate center of a sweet,
The last can popping into the machine
A phrase that raises a celebration,
A word that can end all life
The world with so much love,
The world and the hate that devours it
A happy place to be,
A prayer...god take me away, please

Beyond the Table
Beyond the table, Beyond the house
Beyond the trees, the hills, the clouds
Beyond the sea we voyage so deep
Beyond the movies at which we weep
Beyond our love for the lost one
Beyond our belief in the great one
Beyond all this I saw a star
It seemd so fake, it seemed so far
So make believe so imaginary
nothing like everyday things, so unordinary
I wanted to reach out and touch this goal
this goal of mine was only 6 months old
If one goal in life could be so simple
I smiled about life and showed my dimmple

As I learn about the earth
The sun, the moon, and even my birth
I learned the star is nothing to be found
To go up and touch it, was more than profound
I lay on my back and stare in the sky
at one goal left for people greater than I

So everything in life is hard.

Below the star, our belief in the great one
Below our love, the movies, the sea
The tress, the hills, the clouds
Below my home and my changing table
I think of my world and how much good I was able
Now I sit on a chair in my cell
I killed a family it wasn't hard to tell
It was in my face and in my eyes
What once held the reflection of a star
Now held the reflection of a car
I sped toward it, too drunk to see
Now a family is dead, what happened to me?
