I still tell the central story of this book to kids when I talk about the most amazing things I've learned, writing about science topics. How can seals migrate hundreds of miles along the ice and then return, year after year, to the same places to mate and have pups? This is just one of the incredible stories that has inspired me to write a whole book on how animals navigate. Across the Wide Ocean should be out in another year or two from Greenwillow.
