There are two smallbore rifle facilities at WSA. A 22-position outdoor range at 50 yards and a 10-position indoor 50 foot gallery range. The outdoor range is shared with the pistol discipline. The indoor range is scheduled for different activities each week night, but is open for all shooting during the week days. WSA sponsors a smallbore rifle team in the North Shore Rifle League each winter for all of its members to participate. Both three-position (during the summer, outdoors) and two-position (winter) league matches are featured. 10-meter air rifle or pistol matches may also be fired on this range as pellet stops are provided for use. The indoor range features electric target carriers and a high volume air cleaning system.

Indoor Smallbore Currently Underway
The indoor small-bore rifle season runs every Friday evening from November to March. The matches are shot from the prone and offhand positions -- no kneeling!

New shooters are welcome! The league we're in uses a handicap system, so once a new shooter establishes a handicap, he or she can contribute to the team as much as a seasoned shooter. So if you have a .22 smallbore rifle, please consider joining us on Friday nights. Juniors are welcome, too, if they've taken the basic rifle training course or have equivalent experience. The matches start at 7:30pm; people usually arrive at 6:30pm or before to set up the range and start warming up. That's a good time to catch one of the regulars to get some advice or ask questions.

Occasionally the meets are held in Woburn or in Reading; see the schedule in the ready room or drop one of us a note:
