Sheila and I are residents of Davenport, Iowa. Sheila has been here since 1964 and I moved here in 1989.

Sheila is originally from Montrose, Scotland. She stills retains some of her accent especially when she has been around another Scot. They seem to revert back very easily.

I am originally from Wilmington, Delaware where I attended William Penn High School, located in New Castle, Delaware. While attending High School I enlisted in the U. S. Naval Reserves in February 1958. After graduating from High School in 1958, I worked for a while and than went on active duty in February 1959 and was on active duty until my retirement on September 30, 1986 (28 Years). After retirement I resided in Delaware for 3 years and worked for the State until I move to Davenport in October 1989.

Milatary background and photos can be found at:

At the time of my retirement in 1986 I was a Chief Cryptologic Techincal (Collection) - CTRC - and had been for 16 years.

Sheila and I both stay petty busy what with work, the Scottish American Society and trying to keep up with our granddaughter, Samantha Marie.

Samantha is now 9 years and is quite the little lady, as you can see by the photograph above. Needless to say she keeps us all on our toes.

Some of my favorite sites:

Navy Cryptologic Veterans Association
Edzell Connection
Scottish American Society of Quad-Cities
Robert Burns Dinner

Sheila being from Scotland and I being of Scottish Descent (Craig) are both into all things Scottish. We are both members of the Scottish American Society of the Quad Cities and are very active. Both Sheila and I are past Presidents. At the present time I am the current Society Treasurer and Sheila is again Presiden and also Membership Chairperson.

During my spare time I like to take photos. During the summer they are of the Great Blue Heron. During the winter time I devote most of my time by shooting the Bald Eagle which spends the winter here along the Mississippi. Today, March 20th, I only saw one Eagle so they have left and today's photo may be the last until next winter.

My eagle of the day.

Latest photo, March 20th was taken on Credit Island Park, Davenport, Iowa of an Eagle in flight:

Past Eagle of the Day Selections.
