19% fall in bills cut to 11%?
Customers bills reduced by 10% instead of the
19% originally sought by the Regulator. Will redundancy still have to balance
the lower charges? |
Threat
to public safety
The railways have proved that it is difficult
to ensure public safety in a fragmented industry. This is why it is feared
that the proposal to introduce competition to water sales will cause
problems. |
| National
Consumer Council do not agree with miserly cuts to water bills!
According to OFWAT the 2000-2005 price limits
for water companies are based on reliable information supplied by the industry.
Experts from the National Consumer Council argue that they should have been
lower. |
Does
OFWAT really speak out for consumers?
Many consumers object to water being sold as
a commodity like baked beans. Yet OFWAT appear to support Anglian Water's
domestic metering campaign. Dissatisfied customers are denied the option
of returning to an unmeasured supply of water, once a meter is fitted and
used for one year! |
