99-00 Ski Season Calendar of Events


October 1, 1999: Season passes go on sale

November 7, 1999: Youth Deer Hunting Day Kids under age 16 are allowed to hunt for deer today. Be careful in the woods!

November 13-28, 1999: Deer Hunting Season This is the popular firearms season. If you go in the woods, wear bright colors.

December 7 & 9, 1999: Bennington Schools Ski Program fittings for rental equipment, 3:30 - 6:30 pm.

December 11, 1999: Season Opener Citizens' Race mass start @ 1:00 pm, male/female, age groups, skate/classic categories. All welcome.

January 5, 2000: Southern Vermont High Schools race

January 22, 2000: Moonlight Dinner and Ski Tour buffet dinner in the Base Lodge followed by a guided tour by the light of the full moon.

February 5, 2000: Junior Olympic Qualifier races

February 12, 2000:Vermont State High School Championship Classical Race

February 18 & 19, 2000: Williams College Winter Carnival cross-country ski competition of the top colleges in the eastern United States. Spectators welcome.

February 19, 2000: Moonlight Dinner and Ski Tour buffet dinner in the Base Lodge followed by a guided tour by the light of the full moon.

March 4 , 2000: Dog Sled demonstrations and National Sled Dog Testing

March 11 - 26, 2000:Girl Scout Cookies for sale at Prospect Mountain!

March 17, 2000: St. Patrick's Day Celebration wear green for 1/2 price trail pass

March 18, 2000: Moonlight Dinner and Ski Tour buffet dinner in the Base Lodge followed by a guided tour by the light of the full moon.

March 26, 2000: Spring Fling Citizens' Race & BBQ mass start @ 1:00 pm, male/female, age groups, skate/classic categories. Fun event to celebrate the season. All welcome.

Ongoing: Backcountry Tours, every other Sunday

Bill Koch Ski League practices, Tuesdays and Thursdays at 3:30
