^Hi,

^{My name is Melissa, I am
waiting for a new heart. I have cardiomyopathy. I was diagnosed with it
when I was 2 years old, I am now 7, but I've always felt good. I took gymnastics,
ballet, and karate, but in April of 1997 I started to feel real tired and
it was hard to catch my breath and that's why I'm here at Children's Hospital
of Philadelphia waiting for a donor heart. Without a new heart I won't
be able to grow up and do all the fun things I used to do.}

^{I live in Broomall, Pennsylvania
with my Mom, Dad, and my big brother Brad. Unfortunately, all the expenses
related to medical, prescriptions, and travel are not fully covered by
my Dad's insurance company. Nevertheless, we are asking for your support
with all these extra bills.}
