The Myrtle Beach Pavilion's newest thrill ride made it's debut to the public on May 6, 2000. The latest multi-million dollar monster called the "Hurricane: Category 5" is a steel frame, wood track coaster built by world-renowned coaster builders Custom Coasters, Inc. of Ohio. The 5 million dollar coaster stretches from Ocean Blvd. to Kings Hwy. and features a 53 degree first drop of 110ft., a series of dips, a swooping clockwise 594 degree helix , more airtime filled dips and then a reverse 720 degree swooping helix before sending screaming riders into the brakes. The coaster features 2, 6 car German designed Gerstlauer trains, which made their American debut in 1998 on the Twisted Sisters coaster at Six Flags Kentucky Kingdom in Louisville. They fly along the 3800ft. of track in 2 minutes reaching speeds of up to 55mph.

The pictures are laid out in the order of the ride.
