The Purple And Green Issue! (LOL...i dunno...don't ask!)
Contents
Dear Readers,
Hola ya'll...sorry I'm running kind of late with this ish, but I had some last minute things to get together, and with school and all...tis been crazy. But this is a pretty good ish (well, I *hope* it is ;)...), so I guess the wait was ok. :)
Just a few quick things...I'm trying out this whole new interacting thing...as in, i ask something (i.e. the polls, contest, etc...), and you guys WRITE ME and tell me what's going on... well, the me part is working beautifully, however the part where you and i *INTERACT* seems to be where the problem is...shall we work on it perhaps...?
K...coola...bye now ;)

Cherry Twister: A Review By Violet
Cherry Twister is Steve Ward, Michael Giblin, and Ross Sackler
This Harrisburg PA based band has a major local following, but it's time for this power pop trio's meliflous melodies and haunting harmonies to ride the airwaves across America. A brand new, meticulously produced four song sampler features, Maryann, Brighten Up, Kinda Like a Star, and She's Gone. Maryann, a tightly woven, sprightly song leads off, and embodies the CT style, one that melds lyrics such as, "Do you remember the lonely nights; hanging out by the fire light; isolated and starry eyed..." with these multi syllabic sentiments: "Do you remember the lonely nights; fascinated and sanctified; separated and satisfied"....CT's signature blend of cognitive maturity with emotional teen angst emerges lyrically and musically throughout this sampler, resulting in a consistently clever dynamism. In other words: IT ROCKS!!!
One listen and you''ll be humming these fun melodies filling in the occasional chorus; two listens and you'll be saying, "I can't get this song out of my mind!!!" And that's a GOOD thing!
For your very own CT write to: PO Box 8282.....Lancaster, PA 17603
IDAHO: A Review By Violet
the Bayonet ep Fingerpaint records (1995)
the Forbidden ep Buzz records (1997)
Idaho is Jeff Martin and Dan Seta
The Wade Graham written liner notes of the Forbidden ep begin with, "Time is thin, sound is thick like color," an apt parallel to this complex composition that balances, blends, and juxtaposes lyrics and melodies in a musical journey that leaves you feeling wearily peaceful by cd's end. The strains have a vague reminisence to Sparklehorse, but the sound is distinctly unique; this is music for emotional thinkers. There is a jazzy infrastructure that creates an intentionally discordent tension, that feels soft and pensive, like a rainy day, a candlelit room, a cat stretching and licking and heaving himself against you as he purrs past....liquid sophistication. A perfect treat for the Yummy connoiseur.
Grrr...help me out, ya'll... :p
This stuff is ESSENTIAL... email these guys for more info...
