When you're sworn into CoL, you're sworn to secrecy. However... people are idiots.
While I'm here I think I'd like to relate a little story. Someone was asking on the net who Estrion aligned himself with, and I said Kuon, as I always do. A while later the Poohbah warned me and took away my powers for half an hour. I was completely confused and assisted on the matter. The good GM Smite asked me if I'd recently asked a CoL question on the net, and it clicked. I told him what had happened.
"Kuon?" he asked.
He was as flabberghasted as I was. I took it as a good sign that GM's do indeed watch the net for violations of secrecy, but it was a bad sign that those GM's knew less about history than the idiots asking the questions. But it's not a bad bargain.
