Course Comments for Lost Lake G.C.

This is a semi-private club designed by both Jim and Tom Fazio. I played this course in June 2002 for $25 and I have to say it was in fantastic shape. It's condition was as nice as any course I've seen on the Treasure Coast list in the summer. The greens were in perfect shape. They had just been aerified some 2 weeks earlier and were extremely fast and smooth with no brown spots or muddy spots. One thing you begin to notice about this course is it has a very good drainage system. This golf course is built in a modern golf resort community and you will see many identical looking homes lining most of the fairways. Aside from the scenery this course is most similar to Ballantrae. A little shorter than Ballantrae but just as dog-legged and narrow. The golfer who knows just when to leave his driver in the bag in favor of a fairway wood or long iron off the tee will have a decided advantage on this course. There are a considerable number of doglegs on this course. Water on 12 of the holes and large waste bunkers throughout the course. Also a few grass bunkers near the greens that can be difficult to chip out of when the grass is high. A few marshy areas on a number of holes also act as hazards. There are 5 sets of tees ranging from 5106 yards to 6850 yards. Most of the greens have a significant amount of slope and are difficult to putt. The signature hole is #7, a 485-yard par 5 with a pretty waterfall behind the green. Prices in the mid $20’s during summer months. For me the toughest hole was #18, a dogleg left and from the tee you cannot see the landing area in the fairway. Anyone who wants to improve as a golfer should try playing this course often because of its narrowness. This course didn't used to be in my top 5 favorite courses but it is now.

Anybody who feels that this course is a little out of their way ought to try it at least once. It was in fantastic shape when I played it for $25 on 6/20/02. While some of the courses like Club Med Sandpiper, Saint James, Gator Trace and Indian Pines are offering daily specials in the range of $15 to $20 most of you may find it well worth the money to spend a few extra bucks and drive a few extra miles and play a round at Lost Lake. What a course!

I played course on 8/30/03 - In great condition as usual. After 11 they charge $25 for 18. Greens were fast. The course requires you hit a straight ball. Lots of Lateral water hazards. It is a challenging course that is in Ideal shape.

Dpacci, Lost Lake dropped their website about 3 years ago, just about the same time I started this one. I don't think they've ever re-established one.

Dpacci, somebody sent me a link to this Lost lake website. But it tells you next to nothing about the golf course and is more of an advertisement for the Lost Lake restaurant...... http://www.shopperguide.net/advertisers/lostlakegolfclub/index.htm

My husband and I played Lost Lake on 2/17/08 for an after 11am green fee of $60 each plus tax. Beautiful course! Prettiest we played in the two weeks we were in Florida. I'd highly recommend it.
