Course Comments for PGA Village South Course

This is the second of three top notch public golf courses located at this resort. Most amateur golfers will find that the South Course is a few strokes tougher than the North Course. The South Course is definitely the most scenic of the 3 PGA courses. On this course you'll see nothing but wildlife and no windows to break. This course has 5 sets of tees measuring from 7087 yards to 4933 yards. You find the water and the sand to be much more of a factor on this course with an abundance of fairway sandtraps, fairways that are a little more narrow, and water alongside many fairways and next to or behind at least 8 of the greens. The #13 hole, a dogleg-left par-5, features a 2-story tall sand trap on the left hand side of the fairway. Get in that trap and you can pretty much kiss par good bye. Get in front of that trap and you'll find yourself forced to hit over it with a high lofted iron when you've still got 275+ yards to get home. Like the North Course you will find this to be a gently rolling golf course and will probably notice more undulation in the fairways than most of the courses on this list. It's not unusual on any given day to find the South Course to be off-limits to the public for a day or weekend while a tournament is being played there. This course gets most of the tournament action of the 3 courses here and you will usually find it to be in the best condition of the three. See the PGA North Course Comments board about green fees, "daily fee" golf and their relaxed reservation policy. This course is in my opinion one of the 3 best courses on the Treasure Coast list.

I played South Course today, Labor Day 2003. It was in excellent condition as always. We Paid a "Weekday Price" of $27 On the Holiday. This facility at PGA - Training Center, All 3 courses, Staff and Amenities are top notch. Not in a fancy Country Club way. More like, very freindly people who are proud of the place they work because it is the best in South Florida. I always enjoy playing here!!!! I'm glad I live only 25 minutes away. If you are coming to play golf in Florida - Don't miss PGA Village!!!
